Reiki Training Overview

The system of Reiki has its roots in Tibetan spiritual practices, believed to be a form of Buddhist Tantra. Aspects of the practice have returned to us, via Japan, in this modern time as a system of hands-on healing.

As a system of healing, Reiki is divided into three different levels. Each level builds upon the previous level by giving an increase in the healing power available to the practitioner. Each level also adds a deeper understanding of the system and additional healing tools which will allow the practitioner to more effectively work with the energy.

In addition, the student of Reiki will also learn about his or her energetic anatomy and the model of holistic healing. This helps the practitioner to better understand the process of personal and spiritual growth, and then apply these principles through the Reiki healing techniques to work towards an experience of integrated wholeness of body, mind and spirit.

For most people, it will be recommended that you take one level at a time, and allow a period of one to six months for integration and self practice before proceeding to the next level of training.

After completing the Third/Master level of Reiki Training, the student will be given the tools to teach the Reiki system to others. Additionally, the Third Level student becomes eligible to take the Karuna Ki Master intensive training, which provides an additional three levels of advanced techniques which will boost your healing potential and deepen your understanding of your spiritual nature.

Although private training classes are available, it is highly recommended that you participate in a group class. The group energy intensifies the experience and the healing effects, and will therefore provide you with a deeper understanding of the Reiki energy.

Jeff's Reiki Training Philosophy

I am a practitioner and a teacher of Tantra Yoga. My approach to Reiki is through that lens. For me, Reiki is a tool for Spiritual advancement as well as a tool for healing. It has all the power of a healing system which can be used for others, and it is also a wonderful foundation for self-practice and spiritual growth.

I am delighted at the increasing public awareness of Reiki, and I want people to understand that in addition to healing others, it is also incredibly powerful and beneficial for Self use. As a system which teaches enhanced energetic awareness, and the multiple dimensions of our Spiritual experience, it fits perfectly into Tantric Yoga studies. In fact, I believe that its original system came directly from Tantric practices.

Reiki can be used to enhance any Tantric Spiritual practice, including meditation, Breathing exercises (pranayamas), and Postures (asanas). Additionally, it is a wonderful preparation for the more advanced practices of Tantric Sacred Sexuality, Tantra Kundalini Yoga and Tantra Kriya Yoga.

Through Reiki study and practice, you increase your access to life force energy, increase your capacity to hold life force energy, and increase your awareness and understanding of life force energy. You will additionally begin to develop your intuitive abilities and deepen your awareness of subtle energies and the energetic anatomy of your body, mind and spirit.

These skills will help you deepen your Tantric Yoga practice as it is also focused on expanding life force energy, and working through the various energy systems and layers of awareness to achieve spiritual development. In fact, the simple act of Self healing in Reiki can be used by itself as a Tantric practice if there is proper understanding of intention and application.

Reiki can be a wonderful foundation for further Tantra Yoga study, and it can also be used as an independent healing system. Either way, it is spiritual in nature. Reiki is healing universal life force which is directed by a higher Consciousness. Many would refer to this higher Consciousness as God or Spirit. Just like Tantra, Reiki is also universally accepting in its approach, and will support and deepen each individual's unique relationship to Spirit. All faiths are welcome and will benefit.

It is the deepening of one's relationship to Spirit or the Essential Nature of the Self in both Tantra and Reiki which creates healing and growth. As that relationship deepens, it will be discovered that Spirit is directing the Reiki Energy, directing your Spiritual Growth, and that Spirit is the True teacher of both Reiki and Tantra Yoga.

The Reiki Level Three or Master Level completes the Reiki system and takes the energy and healing potential to a whole new level. While again expanding the Reiki energy available, it adds the final pieces to understanding the Spiritual nature of the Self, and empowers you to work with the Reiki energy from that place of deepened Self-awareness.

Additionally, Reiki Level Three prepares you and gives you the tools to become an active Reiki Teacher, or Reiki Master. You will receive the Reiki Master Level attunement and be given all the information and tools needed to work with the Reiki Energy at the Master level as a healer as well as teach others to do the same.
